Moroka Swallows striker Siyabonga Nomvete and coach Rainer Zobel have won the Premier Soccer League (PSL) player and manager of the month award respectively.

Nomvete pipped SuperSport United winger Daine Klate and AmaZulu striker Ayanda Dlamini to the award, while Zobel, who steered the Birds to a top-eight finish, saw off competition from Usuthu coach Neil Tovey.

Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Siyanda Xulu were also both nominated for an end of season Red Hot Young Player prize.

At the awards ceremony, PSL CEO Kjetil Siem said he was pleased with the "commitment" of the teams.

"It's been a wonderful and intriguing season and I'm extremely pleased by the commitment shown by all teams.

"I've looked forward to these awards every month and I wish the judges well for the overall judging of the Absa Premiership awards," he added.
