Owen da Gama could be without a club next season despite guiding Bloemfontein Celtic to sixth in the Premier Soccer League.

The former Orlando Pirates boss turned the club's fortunes around after a relegation battle last season but his future has been the talk of much speculation in recent months.

Now 'Phunya Sele Sele' chief executive Ikie Augousti has revealed that Da Gama's tenure will be up for discussion at a club meeting this week.

"Obviously, our sixth-place finish on the log is something to be proud of, but we need to look at a number of things", Augousti told the Sowetan.

"Did the players we had this season contribute to our position?

"Thembile Kanono and Tlou Segolela did absolutely well this season, so these are the issues we need to look at."

Augousti added that he felt the side were too defensive and not brave enough when playing on their own patch.

"Sometimes we seemed to give the opposition too much respect. We must make teams feel that they are playing away every time they come here, even Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates."

Da Gama has previously stated that he was happy at the club and outlined a long-term plan.

After Celtic's 1-0 loss to Pirates in the Telkom Knockout, Da Gama revealed: "I have always delivered at all the teams that I have coached. I have a contract that runs until 2011 but in South Africa, a contract is as good as the paper it is written on.

"Clubs must have complete confidence in the coach."
