Ajax Cape Town and Golden Arrows will meet for the second time in the space of eight days when the sides clash in an Absa Premiership matchat Newlands Stadium on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3.30pm).

The 'Urban Warriors' will obviously still be hurting after their 6-0 reverse at the hands of Arrows in the MTN8 final at Orlando Stadium last weekend, but this league match against the KwaZulu-Natal side offers them the perfect opportunity to gain some revenge and redemption.

And the Cape side are in good form on the league front, having won four of their last five matches. Ajax?s most recent outing saw them defeat an inconsistent Moroka Swallows outfit 2-0 in midweek thanks to a penalty from Dipsy Selolwane and an own goal from Rudiger Gilbert.

The result pushed the Urban Warriors up to second spot on the table on 21 points, just two behind leaders SuperSport United. And with Matsatsantsa having a tough away game against Bidvest Wits, Ajax could yet find themselves top of the log at the end of the weekend if results go their way.

'Abafana Bes'thende', in contrast, have been decidedly underwhelming in the Absa Premiership. They were brought back to earth when they were handed a 2-0 defeat by Kaizer Chiefs in midweek and the new MTN8 champs have won just two of their 12 league matches this season.

Arrows have proved to be something of a bogey side for Ajax in recent years: the Urban Warriors have beaten the KwaZulu-Natal team just once in their last eight league games against each other.

And Abafana Bes?thende defeated Ajax both home and away last season, completing a rare league 'double' over the team in white and red.

Nonetheless, form and motivation points to Ajax Cape Town having the edge over Golden Arrows this weekend in what should prove to be an exciting and entertaining match between two young and attack-minded teams.
