Bloemfontein Celtic scored two late goals via Cecil Oerson and Prince Olomu to record a 2-0 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces in their Absa Premiership match at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on Sunday.

Aces surprised the home side with some enterprising play, limiting Celtic to only two chances on goal in the opening half.

A bright start to the game by the Mpumalanga outfit saw Felix Musasa forcing Phunya Sele Sele goal keeper Patrick Tignyemb into a save from his free kick.

Tignyemb also had to deal with a number of crosses into the box as Aces kept up the early pressure.

AmaZayoni custodian Thomas Richter was in fact only tested for the first time in the 27th minute when he saved from Oerson's 20-yard shot.

Three minutes later Tlou Segolela had a good opportunity for Celtic when he pulled the trigger from inside the box, but he was unable to beat Richter from only 12 yards out.

Aces finished the half strongly, but could not profit from their chances as Nkosinathi Ogle headed wide in the 36th minute and then Jacob Machaka's shot from range was tipped over by Tignyemb.

Aces again looked bright after the break, but as was the case in the first half, they failed to make things count in front of goal.

In the 67th minute the visiting side were unlucky not to go in front when Mpho Maleka struck the bar from close range.

The Bloemfontein side?s chances were relatively few and far between, however, Oerson made a rare opportunity count in emphatic style when he buried a low 25-yard effort into the bottom corner of the net to break the deadlock with 76 minutes gone.

Aces were not able to muster too much in response and the win was sealed for Phunya Sele Sele in injury time when Olomu slammed the ball home from 18-yards after picking up a pass from Segolela.
