"Derbies don't produce pretty football, but I have asked my players to play for their badge," said Ajax coach Craig Rosslee this week. "We will go out and produce the type of football that we played all season long, high tempo attractive carpet football."
He added: "We have players with a few knocks from our game against Mamelodi Sundowns, but we have options available on the bench.
"Any player, when given an opportunity, has put his hand up and will definitely make the squad. We have a number of players waiting in the wings and I have the unenviable task of deciding who to leave out of the squad.
"As I said last week, we will take it one game at a time and the result will look after itself, I expect a tough game against Santos and our players are up for the challenge."
The players from both teams need no extra motivation as friends become foes for 90 or more minutes of football.
The question remains, however, just who will triumph in the Cape Derby? Well, don't stray too far from Athlone Stadium come 8pm on Saturday evening.
Got something to say?
