But Craig Rosslee's 'Urban Warriors' could have a tough time in KwaZulu-Natal in what is their first league match away from home since they defeated Kazier Chiefs at Loftus Stadium more than two months ago.
AmaZulu have been one of the form teams in the Premiership in recent times, picking up 10 out of possible 15 points since losing to Bloemfontein Celtic in mid September and Clive Barker's team are thus sitting pretty in fourth place, six points adrift of their opponents Ajax who are at the top of the table.
With striker Dumisani Ngwenya in fine form after hitting the only goal of the game against Platinum Stars last week, 'Usuthu' will be confident of upsetting the youthful log leaders.
But the 'Urban Warriors' will have different ideas though, and their 4-1 defeat of Moroka Swallows in Cape Town was a demonstration of the potent football this team is capable of producing.
Their only defeat of the season also came away to Celtic on the opening day and they have defeated both Chiefs and Thanda Royal Zulu in their back yards.
Ajax head coach, Craig Rosslee said although the AmaZulu game is the first of a series of away games for Ajax his side will nevertheless concentrate on one game at a time trusting that the overall result will look after itself.
"We are ready to face ‘Usuthu’ and the players are eager to win this game," explained Rosslee. "Our preparations have gone well and there is a positive mood in the dressing room.
"There is a lot of competition for places in the starting line-up and as a result the players are playing above themselves to cement their place in the team."
