Ajax played some good, inter-passing football in the first half and were rewarded with two well-executed goals; with new Bafana Bafana recruit Thembinkosi 'Tera' Fanteni involved in both scores.

First Fanteni set hard-working midfielder Mfundo Shumana up for a shot in the 23rd minute, then the Israeli-bound 'Tera' released strike partner Russell Mwafulirwa with a fine through-ball for Ajax's second goal ten minutes later.

With Swallows looking out of sorts, 'Birds' head coach Ian Gorowa made a double substitution - introducing midfielders Tsweu Mokoro and Hellings Mwakasungula for the ineffective Mark Haskins and Songwe Chalwe, respectively.

Ever-improving Swallows striker Sandile Ndlovu found the target from a free-kick, which he curled around the Ajax wall, but veteran goalkeeper Hans Vonk was well-positioned to make the save and keep his side 2-0 ahead at half-time.

Swallows came back strongly in the second half, but their attempts found goalkeeper Vonk in no charitable mood. Ndlovu did, however, eventually find a way past the veteran Ajax goal-minder courtesy of a header in the 80th minute.

However, Ajax - who looked a bit too content since the start of the second stanza - charged at the visitors and got two more goals in the last 10 minutes.

Substitute Nathan Paulse blasted at Swallows 'keeper Mathibe, who blocked the initial shot, but another of Ajax's second-half introductions, Nhlanhla Shabalala, was on hand to pick up the pieces and score his side's third in the 89th minute.

Ajax were not done, however, as 'Tera' capped his superb showing with a goal in stoppage time, when he redirected Bryce Moon's low-cross to the back of the net; increasing the 'Urban Warriors' lead to 4-1.
