Earlier this year, Claasen was invited to spend three weeks at Real Madrid. This was followed by trials at Espanyol and PSV Eindhoven.
Claasen started his football career at Leicester City in Klerksdorp before moving to Vasco da Gama in Parow.
The national Under-20 star moved to Ajax in the 2002/3 Absa Premiership season and set about making a name for himself in local soccer circles.
He was part of the victorious Ajax Metropolitan Premier Cup side and has 10 national U17 caps to his name.
"Young Daylon Claasen has made it at Ajax Amsterdam. This is the third player and final free transferred player owed to Ajax Amsterdam since 2000 as per our commitment to this partnership," Ajax CEO John Comitis told the club's official website.
"The good news is that Daylon will be with us for six months and we hope to at least see him in action for our PSL team before he leaves for Europe," added Comitis.
