AmaZulu will be go in search of their second win in the Absa Premiership season when they host Ajax Cape Town at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday evening (kick-off 7.30pm).
'Usuthu' have been on a lean run of form lately. The club was eliminated from the top eight cup towards the end of last month and they have lost two of their last three league matches.
However, AmaZulu will take heart from their 1-1 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic at the weekend. The KwaZulu-Natal club looked on course for a precious away win until conceding a late equaliser.
Ajax, despite qualifying for the top eight cup final, have struggled for form in the Absa Premiership. The club has won just one of its first five league matches.
The 'Urban Warriors' looked set for a third successive home defeat when they were 1-0 down against BidVest Wits this past Sunday, but Franklin Cale scored a late equaliser to ensure they picked up their first point at home this season.
AmaZulu and Ajax lie in 11th and 13th place on the log respectively, with the same points (five) and goal difference (minus two). 'Usuthu' are seeded higher thanks to having scored more goals (six to Ajax?s three).
The teams have met 12 times in the top flight league since 1999/2000. Ajax have won seven games to AmaZulu?s three and outscored them 17 goals to 10.
Last season, however, Usuthu took four points off the 'Urban Warriors', winning 2-0 in KwaZulu-Natal and drawing 0-0 in the return game in Cape Town.
