Platinum Stars will host Neil Tovey?s AmaZulu in an Absa Premiership clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday evening (kick-off 7:30pm).

The Usuthu will not be in the best of moods coming into this game following the passing of one of their players, Jan Sillo, who died in a car accident last week. AmaZulu also lost this past weekend, going down 2-1 to Golden Arrows in the first leg of their MTN8 semifinal.

The two teams do not have a big history between them. They have only faced each other eight times in official league fixtures. Of those eight matches Stars have just had the better of AmaZulu, winning four matches to Usuthu?s three victories.

The eight previous league games between these two clubs have not produced a feast of goals. Only 15 goals have been scored, of which AmaZulu have six and Stars nine.

In the corresponding fixture last season The Tycoons narrowly beat AmaZulu 3-2 in an exciting match. Stars also managed to claim the three points in the reverse fixture winning by one goal to nil.

Both teams are coming into this game off the back of a draw in their last Premier League fixture. In Stars' first match of the season they played to a boring 0-0 draw against Jomo Cosmos. 'Usuthu', on the other hand, had four goals in their game when they drew 2-2 with BidVest Wits.
