Former Bafana Bafana coach Clive Barker has tipped Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali to become a future star for the national team.

Barker, who is currently a technical advisor to AmaZulu, sung the 19-year-old's praises following his influential display in last weekend's 6-2 annihilation of neighbours Swaziland.

"I was delighted about the inclusion of Andile jail who gave a wonderful display of power play against Swaziland," he told Usuthu's official website.

"His ability to see things earlier than most players, his ability to win back the ball when the side has lost it and his ability to pass the ball will make him a wonderful player for Bafana Bafana for many years to come."

Barker added that he recently met up with current national coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, who he said continues to show an enthusiasm to work closely with the local-based players.

"I got the impression then that he would prefer to look at local players. I picked up on the notion that he felt he would be more in control of the performances of Bafana Bafana if he was able to work closely with the local players."
