Bloemfontein Celtic boss Owen da Gama has admitted that his side's clash with Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night could have gone either way.

Prince Olomu's injury-time goal gave 'Phunya Sele Sele' a 1-0 win over Amakhosi in a game that the Celtic mentor has hailed as a 'great advert for football'.

"It was a great advert for football lets be honest, the game could have gone either way and that is good for people that pay their hard-earned money to come and watch football," he said speaking after the game.

"We had to read them because they came with a different team than the one that played against Platinum Stars, so we had to read them and see what the situation was and I think that there were moments that they took control and there were moments that we took control."

The former Orlando Pirates mentor was pleased to see his side notch up their first home win of the season.

He continued: "We had to be very cautious playing at home, where we haven't won a game, so we had to consolodate and take control once we knew how they were playing."

Celtic now lie third in the PSL standings after an excellent start to the new campaign, but Da Gama is refusing to get carried away as he sets his sights on his troops' next game against Moroka Swallows at the weekend.

He continued: "We have been fortunate, we have been lucky, it's part of the game. It's a marathon, but at least we are getting those golden points that we want.

"Once we have got our 34 points then we will start at looking at the future, but it is important that we just settle and this was a good victory for us to be able to settle down and play good football at home.

"They are a very very good team (Swallows) and we will just go out there, we have got our game plan."
