BidVest Wits striker Calvin Kadi believes they can go all the way this time around and win the league after their win against Moroka Swallows.
The 'Students' always start the first half of the season well and tend to drop down in the second half, but Kadi believes the compressed season will be to their advantage.
Kadi told Football365.co.za: "The first round normally ends at the end of December. This season is different, 24 games must be played before December.
"If that is our record of doing well until December then I think this may be our lucky season because by the end of December, 24 games would have been played and six games left next year. I just hope that we can find ourselves in the right position at the end of December as we normally do in a normal season."
The former SuperSport United frontman scored his sixth league goal when they defeated Swallows 2-0, helping the club move to second position in the Premiership, four behind log leaders Orlando Pirates.
"Another win for us, its good that we have kept our momentum going and I am very happy that I have kept my scoring momentum going. I just hope we can keep on going like this and see how things will turn out for us," he said.
Wits and Pirates are two of the three teams that are still unbeaten in the league and they will be up against each other on Saturday.
The Soweto outfit go into the match after a 1-0 win against Platinum Stars and have not conceded a goal in seven matches while Wits have scored 12 goals, the best record in the league.
Kadi described the match as a 'cracker' and said he is looking forward to playing at Orlando Stadium.
"What a cracker! It's going to be a tough game especially at Orlando Stadium. I have played there against (Kaizer) Chiefs and what a (great) football place to play at.
"I am really happy that we are going into that game after winning against Swallows yesterday. I don't think there will be any pressure on us, that's what I love about going into big games after playing a very tough game.
"I think it will be a very difficult one and we are ready to go and stress them," he concluded.
