Mpumalanga Black Aces made a "business decision" and parted company with coach Sammy Troughton on Tuesday.
Aces have won just three Premier Soccer League matches all season and are currently languishing third from bottom in the top flight.
Club chairman Mario Morfou explained that the team's poor form forced him into sacking the Northern Irishman.
"He is a great guy and was the obvious choice of coach going into our maiden season, however the results were not forthcoming and we simply had to make a business decision," Morfou told the Aces website.
The PSL newcomers also revealed that 'Troughton has been offered the position of director of football for youth, a position based at the Corinthians Black Aces Academy in Linksfield.'
Troughton's successor is set to be unveiled on Wednesday.
But Tuesday was a busy day in local football management circles as Maritzburg United coach Gordon Igesund resigned from his position with the Midlands outfit due to "personal reasons".
African Warriors boss and former Orlando Pirates assistant Ian Palmer is rumoured to be leading the race to take over at Maritzburg.
Despite the two coaching changes on Tuesday, the 2009/2010 season has seen just two other managerial departures.
Earlier in the campaign Ajax Cape Town saw Muhsin Ertugral resign and take up a position in Turkey while Jose Claudinei 'Valinhos' spent a few weeks in charge at Free State Stars before leaving under mysterious circumstances.
