Bloemfontein Celtic will try to avoid a third successive Absa Premiership defeat when they host bottom-of-the-log Jomo Cosmos at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on Wednesday evening (kick-off 7.30pm).

Celtic, after going nine games unbeaten in the league, have lost two on the spin: 1-0 away to Ajax Cape Town and 2-0 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns.

'Phunya Sele Sele' now sit in sixth place on the log with 17 points from 11 matches, five adrift of leaders SuperSport United.

Cosmos have had a dreadful start to the season, winning just one of their 11 matches. The club lie in 16th place with just eight points to their name.

The Johannesburg-based side have now gone eight games without a win and will be desperate for a win to try and lift themselves off the foot of the table.

'Ezenkosi' have at least managed two draws in their last two outings: 1-1 at home to AmaZulu and 1-1 away to Maritzburg United.

Celtic and Cosmos have met 39 times in the top flight since 1985. Ezenkosi have won 18 games to Phunya Sele Sele?s 12 and outscored them 44 goals to 35.

In home games for Celtic, the side in green and white have managed just five victories to Cosmos' eight.

However, 'Phunya Sele Sele' did a league double over 'Ezenkosi' in the 2007/08 season, winning 2-0 away and 3-1 at home.
