Golden Arrows and visitors Maritzburg United went away with a share of the spoils at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday afternoon when they played to a 1-1 draw.

Bafana Bafana striker Richard Henyekane put the home team ahead in the second half, while Nigerian import Felix Obada leveled matters on the stroke of full time for United.

The first half was a lacklustre affair with neither side being able to mount any serious attempts at goal.

However, in this stanza of play, the visitors held the upper hand but were only able to pepper the Arrows goal with long range shots which seldom troubled keeper Helton Da Rocha.

Arrows most promising moment of the half was when Philani Shange beat the off-side trap in the 28th minute and tried to thread the ball into the path of Richard Henyekane who was unmarked in the United penalty area, but Byron Hendriks stuck out a boot in the nick of time to avert the danger.

In a rare attacking foray for Arrows, the Henyekane brothers, Joseph and Richard, combined to set-up Thamsanqa Gabuza for an easy tap-in, twelve minutes after the interval, but the lanky striker made a hash of the chance.

Immediately afterwards, Arrows coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, introduced Koffi Tanoh in place of Gabuza. Four minutes later this tactical move paid dividends when Tanoh laid a defence splitting pass into the path of the fleet-footed Richard Henyekane who pulled away from his markers and finished with aplomb.

Shortly thereafter, Richard Henyekane teed-up Philani Shange for an attempt at goal but Tashrique Goldman in the United goals kept out the danger with a well timed lunge.

The visitors pressed for an equaliser in the remaining minutes and eventually got their reward when Obada rifled home a thunderous shot inside the Arrows box after following up on a Musa Nyatama header which hit the home team's crossbar.
