Golden Arrows midfielder Thanduyise Khuboni says the team's head coach Manqoba Mngqithi was angry with the players for missing countless chances in Tuesday night's goalless draw against Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder, who was voted the man of the match, says he understands why the coach was unhappy with the players.
"I think we played really well, but obviously the problem was that we missed a lot of chances, which could have helped us bury Chiefs.
"It is the one thing killing us at the moment and that's probably why we haven't won a game in the last four. Even the coach was angry with us at the end of the game and I can understand where he is coming from, because really we could have finished them off," Khuboni told Football365.co.za.
"It is disappointing that we failed to use any of the opportunities and at least the coach understands that perhaps we lack the confidence," he said.
However, the 23-year-old was "very happy" with his own performance on the night. "I was very satisfied and remember that it has been a time of firsts for me recently, because it is the first time for me getting a man of the match award in the PSL, after I was voted man of the match when I played my first game for Bafana against Zimbabwe.
"I'm so motivated at the moment and I feel I can do more. I'm very happy with the way I'm playing," he said.
The newly capped midfield anchorman also reveals the inspiration behind his performances of late. "I have been told by the coach and my family that there is no reason why I can't make it to the squad for the World Cup looking at the way I have been playing.
"It is what motivates me at the moment, because a lot of people around me believe in me," he concluded.
