Here are the latest, and more positive, views from SASoccer365 readers:
"It is with great amazement that I read the readers' comments about how unhappy they are about the TV rights being awarded to SS. These are probably the same people who used to complain about watching delayed matches on SABC1.
"I am sure we would also like to see our clubs getting a substantial amount from the PSL and players getting well paid. It is deals like these that generate the income. Foreign leagues make their money from TV rights and this is actually a step forward for SA soccer.
"Another point is, we haven't even been informed on how SuperSport will televise these matches as according their CEO, they will make sure people will get to watch matches and their contract with the PSL requires them to give some matches to other channels i.e SABC and eTV. That point about people being left out of the deal because it went to a pay-per-view channel is just the SABC using the fans to help them fight their battles. I would be surprised if they even tendered for the deal as they probably assumed that it would automatically be awarded to them.
"Maybe now with such a competitive channel like SS, we can get to choose which PSL matches to watch rather than having the SABC choose which match will be televised and their analysts left a lot to be desired anyway.
"Congratulations to Supersport and to the fans I say, only comment or criticise only when you have all the details of the deal and not because you heard the SABC people saying something and then you follow suit."

"I think this can be good for our soccer as sabc has been giving us an inferior product for so long. They would fail to show important matches or show only their favourite teams. This deal also means more money for the teams to buy players and be competitive. Irvin also mentioned that DSTV will sub-contact some of the rights to free to air channels. I hope it is eTV bacause I am sick and tired of SABC thinking they can short change the public. We must wait and see I hope the government doesn't interfere."

"I have been reading the responses that the South African public has been sending through to you guys in connection with the TV rights issue. I have to totally disagree with what they are saying. I am totally glad that the SABC has lost the rights. People need to know that this is going to benefit all soccer loving supporters in the country. Previously the SABC dictated what we watched when it came to soccer, and besides that the studio panel at times didn't know what they were talking about.
"Since SuperSport has won the rights, we will be able to see more soccer on TV, people might ask how because they don't have DSTV. Assuming that Supersport will sell rights to certain games to eTV and SABC for the people who don't have DSTV, now people will be able to watch soccer on E.TV as well as SABC (that's if the SABC swallows their pride and agree).
"I totally agree with the PSL in giving the rights to Supersport because if the SABC or eTV got the rights we were only going to see the two matches a week as we normally do. SABC and eTV have been rivals ever since the free to air channel started broadcasting in 1998. If either of the two broadcasters had the rights to soccer they would not share it with the other. So thanks to PSL and Supersport there will be a variety of football on television. Yes it is a knock towards the SABC who was with the PSL since its inception but then this is business and the South African public deserve to have the option to choose from a variety of different matches that will be broadcasted.
"I think this is a very good step towards improving the game within the country as well as broadcasting, as this will put the broadcasters in competition with each other in regards to who will be able to give us the best viewing pleasure all round when it comes to the beautiful game."

"Phambili nge SuperSport Phambili! I hope Etv will get the right from DStv ahead of SABC as I believe they can do better than sabc (excuse the lower case, but they deserve it anyway)."
