"It is a sad day for the football lovers in this country it shows that this country belong to the rich. The manangement of PSL THEY don't care obout the poor in this country they only think about themselves."
- Samson

"I gud 2 hv supersport bt wat abt those who dont hv dstv wat do u say abt them?"
- Giftm

"Sir editor that's great news for SuperSport, but how about us football lovers who cannot afford satellites. Is it possible for SuperSport make a free channel lyk SABC1 in case we can't afford DA monthly subscrition?"
- Bheki Dlamini

"I'm not sure whether I am day dreaming or what, we understand this is a business. I'm still asking myself some question, but can't find the solution. How can the PSL decide to take the PSL games away from the most poor people to the few richer soccer fans, still can't believe that, my question are you guys trying to improve the number of viewers to watch soccer on 2010, but I don't think it's a wise idea you must go back and revisit whatever agreement bcoz you are reducing the number of football viewers in the hall nation.

"Please guys I think you were playing a joke with us to say PSL games will be broadcast on Super Sport channel where else you guys know not all of us can access Super Sport channel, but you know clear on SABC everyone can access without having a problem. I thank you hopefully this was a joke from PSL."
- Sbu

"We who cannot afford Supersport as supporters have lost, but PSL has gained. Loving soccer is not just a miner thing, you guys must remember the supporters at the grass-roots level. Image is perfect but timing is wrong... "
- Siya

"I'm very disappointed in both Mr I. Khoza and Mr K. Motaung they let the poor down. They know very well that in townships where they come from most people cannot afford a loaf of bread for breakfast, then how will they afford a decoder to watch PSL games, do they want stamped in stadiums people to die.SuperSport must air all its PSL game to the public the majority cannot afford a decoder."
- Klaas Manamela

"I am a very disappointed soccer fan, after hearing that SuperSport channel will be screening soccer matches exclusively for the next five years. How is the people of South Africa suppose to support our local soccer teams, and also support the Bafana Bafana if the screening is not brought to us, the poor people who loves this sport. This is really depriving our people and myself who can't afford to have MNET in my house. I'm a very disappointed and very angry supporter at this moment. What a stupid decision, a laughable one. You want the country to support football, but that is not going to happen at this point and on how things are going."
- Linda, an angry supporter

"That's the dumbest move I've ever heard in my life, have you people forgotten who football is intended for in this country??!!? I knew SA soccer was going down - but never thought we'd stoop this low, I've got DSTV home no problem for me... But what about the millions of other average South Africans who can't even afford to get to work let a long pay for DSTV subscription?? You guys have outdone yourselves!! This South African is tired of this nonsense!!!!!!!!"
- Lerato Moiloa

"Tau!! doesnt make sense at all!!"
- Mophethe Moletsane

"From a people's sport to an elite sport - I find it quite strange and anti-poor South Africans that the PSL out of all decisions it could have taken in awarding the broadcasting rights has decided to award Supersport International the broadcasting rights for PSL matches.

"Who stands to benefit out of this transaction?
1. Is it PSL?
2. Is it individuals within PSL?
3. Is it SA football (in its broadest sense including supporters)

"It is quite clear that the deal stands to benefit 1&2 above.

"It is, in fact, historical and a reversal of the history of this country to take PSL matches to a TV station of the elite. It goes against the ritual 'football is a people's sport' into 'football is a sport of the elite. This is a naked sell-out. Money has taken over football, every decison taken is taken on th basis of Return in Iinvestment (ROI). Is ROI not supposed to be balanced with access to this national asset? Football has now become an island of privileges within the sea of poverty.

"Wanting to apply international practices even though conditions do not permit is a sign of shortsightedness and being ill-informed. The decision of PSL needs to be fought from all angles including the boycott of matches by fans. The SABC needs to be supported in its fight against this decision for it is a noble cause. Those who take decisions purely and only on the basis of increasing their pockets at the espense of the good for all will be judged harshly by history. For now they remain sell-outs and villains they are.

"Let us liberate football from its current conquerors."

"I was shocked to listen to the announcement yersterday, about the contract awarded to SuperSport.

"To my understanding SABC was on the field for many years and South Africa has been awarded the World Cup. But everything has changed:
- People cannot watch games on TV as they used to
- The people who supported the country to host WC are shuttered, because they have to get DStv to watch the game
- Majority of soccer supporters do not afford to subscribe

"I wonder the people involved in the process are they thinking for the majority or minority of the soccer lover? For your information, people travel to watch the game on DStv some even go to the PUB. Please reconsider the final contract for the benefit of the people not for the riches. Last thing, I was suprised to see the big Orlando Pirates boss on TV announcing the decision. I think something is not right.

"Now DSTV has won the deal what about the people, because I am one of them."
- Tlou Mphaka

"Please correct me if I'm wrong. I see this as it is only going to benefit PSL and the TEAMS. PSL does not THINK or CARE about the football lovers who cannot afford DSTV and the SUBSCRIPTIONS."
- Reuben Duze

"I really don't understand what happened here, does that mean we soccer-lovers relying only on SABC sport can never again watch the game on our TV sets at home anymore, eish if it is like that then many of us will quit paying tv lisence. and another thing is that not all soccer supporters can access Supersport DSTV and again we cannot all go to stadiums, Mr editor, I think this is the greatest mistake that 'Dali Mpofu' have ever commited and as a result soccer is no longer gonna be a sport for the people but a sport that could only be watched by rich people who can afford luxuries such as DSTV and big cars. MR Editor maybe I don't get the story right feel free to correct me and clarify me, maybe I am lost."
- Mafenya Lediga,Uuniversity of Limpopo

"It is was good decision I respect that. But did they ever considered the majority of blacks are poor they can not even afford the TV licence for SABC a yearly payment. How much more for R199 for compact package which must be paid monthly. No forgetting that  they are the people who been giving support for the rest of their lives. So in my opinion our leaders they forget where they come from."
