Ajax were the big winners once again on Monday, with team captain and goalkeeper Hans Vonk and midfielder Clifford Ngobeni scooping individual awards for their hand in the 'Urban Warriors' devastating run to the title.
Vonk walked off with the 'Player of the Tournament' Award, taking home R250,000 in prize money, whilst his young team-mate Ngobeni won the 'Nike Most Valuable Young Player' prize - which includes a contract with the global sports brand worth R50,000.
Furthermore, the club's then head coach Muhsin Ertugral - who is now at the helm at Kaizer Chiefs - was named the 'Coach of the Tournament', after plotting the team's championship run - highlighted by their 2-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.
Meanwhile, Bloemfontein Celtic's rising star, Petros Mahlatsi, walked off with the 'Top Goalscorer' accolade. He scored four goals in the '06/07 tournament, which saw him pocket R250,000.
