Benni scores for Rovers

Benni McCarthy scored a brace for Blackburn Rovers, but his goals were not enough to save Blackburn from going down 3-5 to Manchester United in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night.
McCarthy came on as a sub at the start of the second half and scored just three minutes after coming on, before grabbing another goal in the dying minutes of the match.
But it was Man Utd's Carlos Tevez who stole the show with four goals — including the first one which looked like an own-goal from Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena.
Blackburn manager Paul Ince blamed his side's poor defending for the Old Trafford loss.
"For thirty minutes we looked comfortable. We weren't particularly playing well, but we didn't look in any danger. But then we concede two goals and it is back to the walls and you can't do that against Manchester United," Ince told the official Blackburn website.
"I said to the lads at half-time that is important as to who gets the next
goal, if it is us then it is game on again. We did that thanks to a great finish by Benni.
"But then we give a penalty away straight away and you can't do that, you can't defend like that at any level, especially against a side like United and it killed us," concluded Ince.
