Orlando Pirates midfielder Bennett Chenene believes that the 'Bucs' can prove that they are true title contenders with a victory over SuperSport on Wednesday night.

The Soweto giants will look to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they lost to Santos at the weekend.

The result saw Gavin Hunt's men take over at the summit of the PSL standings, but a win for Ruud Krol's charges would see them reclaim top spot.

He told the club's official website: "There is no doubt that SuperSport United is a strong team. They are particularly dangerous in attacking from the flanks and are also clinical finishers.

"But we have answers for them because we are also capable of tearing any team apart on a good day."

The 25-year-old is under no illusions regarding the size of the task awaiting his side as they go in search of three points.

He continued: "Look, it doesn't come bigger than this one, its war and we will be ready for SuperSport United.

"We have just lost three important points over the weekend to Santos and to make matters worse, we have surrendered our position to the very SuperSport United we will be facing. That's why we are determined to go out there for the three points on offer and nothing less."

The winger has spent a large part of the season on the bench, but was delighted to come on as a substitute against the People's Team at the weekend.

"It's not nice to spend time on the bench, that's why I am pleased to be back in action for my team.

"I have been itching to play for some time and I'm glad that I got my chance. I just hope I can build on my previous performance and start contributing to the success of the team."
