AmaZulu have appointed former Thanda Royal Zulu coach Roger Palmgren as director of sport.

The Swedish coach will begin will officially start his job in December and will oversee the Youth Development Programme working hand in hand with Head of Development Thami Ngubane and Technical Director of Coaching Clive Barker.

The 46-year-old feels that his experience in international football will be of great benefit to 'Usuthu'.

"I feel wonderful about joining a club of great stature and potential like AmaZulu. I strongly beleive that my knowledge of identifying and developing talented players will be very beneficial to AmaZulu," said Palmgren.

His vast experience includes time with the Swedish national team and in several African countries.

"I'm pretty sure that cooperation with Clive Barker and Neil Tovey will hopefully build on what they have already achieved and go on to produce something great."
