Ajax ready for Chiefs

As Ajax Cape Town prepare for their MTN8 semifinal against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, coach Muhsin Ertugral believes his side
have learnt some important lessons from last week's Premiership defeat to Orlando Pirates.
The 'Urban Warriors' face 'AmaKhosi' at Newlands on Saturday night,
the same venue where they lost 1-0 against Pirates in the league
last Sunday.
During that game, the Cape side played some exciting, fast-paced
football, enjoying the better of the first half exchanges.
But they were caught by a quick break from Pirates just after
the restart, as Dikgang Mabalane set up Benson Mhlongo for the only
goal of the game.
Ertugral, facing his former employers in Chiefs, feels that
valuable lessons were learnt during the Bucs game.
"Pirates showed us where our mistakes lie and we have worked on
these areas," said the Turkish-born coach.
"We were too impatient to score, which opened us up on the
counter-attack."
Ertugral looks forward to facing Chiefs, a team he knows well,
having been in charge at 'AmaKhosi' last season.
"Its nice playing against the giants of South African football,
we enjoy the pressure and it shows us exactly where we stand.
"We are not overconfident, but we are very confident going into
this game," he said.
Saturday's match will be the first of a two-legged semifinal,
with the return game taking place in Johannesburg.
Ajax must therefore be wary of conceding away goals as they will
count for double should the aggregate score be tied after the
second leg match.
Ertugral, however, prefers to play this factor down.
"We showed that we can score twice away from home, which we did
in the quarter-final," he said.
"It's natural that this team wants to go forward and look for
goals, although I will admit to being happy with a 0-0 draw on
Saturday."
Not overeager to find fault with his old club, Ertugral did
admit that there are possible weaknesses which could be exposed.
"Sometimes Chiefs' players are too skilful - they forget about
other elements such as organisation and pattern."
Ajax will have long-term injury victims Granwald Scott and
Nazier Allie missing for this game, while winger Shameegh Doutie is
also doubtful while he recovers from tonsillitis.
Other than that, Ajax are expected to have a full strength
squad.
