SuperSport United striker Anthony Laffor has hailed the influence of team-mates Glen Salmon and Daine Klate after they beat Martizburg United 3-2 on Saturday.

The Liberian hitman bagged a brace against the Team of Choice, but he played down his efforts and chose to praise his felllow players instead.

He told Football365.co.za: "Glen Salmon, he is a great player and it is a dream to work with him, also Daine Klate is very talented and he always knows how to play the ball and the most important thing is that he is a true professional."

Salmon showed why he is so important to Matsatsansa as he set up the first two goals of the game and Laffor believes that the former NAC Breda marksman deserves a chance with the South African national team.

"I think Glen deserves a look in for Bafana Bafana," he said.

"He is one of the best strikers in the country if you look at the records of all the teams.

"Since he came to SuperSport, he always keeps his feet on the ground, he is really focused and he only wants to play football. I think if Bafana gave him a chance he will prove his worth for them too."

The 24-year-old was delighted to be back on the scoresheet after netting only one goal this season before the game on the weekend and is confident that the floodgates will open now.

He continued: "I set myself a goal target for the season, but I told myself I shouldn't put myself under pressure because I wanted to get 16 goals this season.

"I just got three goals the whole first round, but at least I created a few, now I must start scoring.

"I just need to work hard and I can make my target."

The former Jomo Cosmos player echoed SuperSport boss Gavin Hunt's sentiments after the game, that they were conceding goals far too easily once they were in front, but felt that a third successive league title was well within the Tshwane outfit's grasp.

He added: "Gavin Hunt is a very good coach and it is true what he was saying that we conceded some unnesseccary goals we need to work on not conceding.

"I was very happy to score goals, but the most important thing was to win you know.

"I think we heading in the right direction to win three league titles in a row, I think we just need to keep our focus and concentrate on every game and I know we can make it."

Laffor has now set his sights on the defending champions game against Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus on Wednesday evening.

"It is going to be tough against Kaizer Chiefs, but the most important thing is that we respect them and they respect us too, but we going into the game looking to get the three points.

"They get the most support in the country, but if we play good football and score goals we will keep the people quiet," he concluded.
