Free State Stars will look for their first victory of the 2009/10 Absa Premiership season when they welcome Golden Arrows to Goble Park on Wednesday afternoon (kick-off 3.30pm).
Stars, in five matches to date, have managed four draws and suffered one defeat. Their most recent outing was a goalless draw away to Jomo Cosmos at the weekend.
Their inability to claim a victory thus far sees 'Ea Lla Koto' languishing in 15th place on the PSL log with four points to their name.
In contrast Stars' opponents, Arrows, sit in a lofty third place on the log. The KwaZulu-Natal team have garnered seven points thus far in a solid start to the season.
However, 'Abafana Bes'thende' seem to be a little goal-shy. Three of their five matches have ended goalless, including their most recent outing, which was a stalemate at home to league leaders Orlando Pirates.
The majority of the top flight league encounters these teams have had since 2000/01 have been draws: in 10 meetings, seven have ended all square. Stars have won twice and Arrows once.
Last term, true to form, both league games ended in a draw: 0-0 in the Free State and 1-1 in KwaZulu-Natal.
But 'Abafana Bes'thende' may have the psychological edge, having already defeated 'Ea Lla Koto' this season: Arrows beat Stars 1-0 in their top eight cup quarterfinal thanks to a goal from Musa Bilankulu.
