AmaZulu have been boosted by the news that Marc van Heerden has signed a new contract with the club.

The 21-year-old has become an integral part of the Usuthu lineup and has been tipped for big things in the future.

Van Heerden revealed that he is happy to have put pen to paper on a new deal but is still eyeing a move to Europe.

The defender told the club's official website: "I am happy of the prospect of staying. It was a fact of being happy at the club, which I am - there were a lot of offers from other clubs in the PSL.

"As a player you want to be at the best club and have them look after your interests. It is a case of also getting the good game time, being surrounded by the right kind of people.

"As for my personal ambitions I would love to win something with the club and hopefully go overseas at the right time."
