Mpumalanga Black Aces co-chairman George Marfou has rubbished reports that have allegedly linked his club to match-fixing allegations, stemming from their play-off match against Thanda Royal Zulu towards the end of last season.
TRZ were relegated after losing the two-legged encounter, but it has emerged through a Sunday publication that the Durban outfit might have some damning evidence that could involve Aces - who were promoted to the Premiership - in match-fixing.
"It's all utter rubbish, and so untrue," Marfou told Football365.co.za
"It's all allegations that come from a certain source. But we are keeping our head held high, with our focus on the team's survival in the league and our last four matches."
AmaZayoni are also said to be owing some money to players, former coach Sammy Troughton and former Chief Executive Peter Katroulis - mostly from bonuses that were apparently promised by management to the team for getting promoted.
Marfou also dismisses these claims, while lashing out at Katroulis, who is more famous in the football circles for his years spent as the General Manager at Mamelodi Sundowns, while the club was owned by the Krok brothers and Nastascia Tschiclas.
"Peter was fired because he was stealing from the club!" retorted Marfou.
"There are people who are trying to destabilize the club by saying all of this hogwash. But we as the team have sent out a letter on our web site about how we feel about the situation, and that is where we will stand."
