Former Bafana Bafana man Sibusiso Zuma has expressed his delight upon his return to the Danish football league.

The 34-year-old has joined Danish outfit FC Nordsjaelland on a short-term deal after being let go by Mamelodi Sundowns at the beginning for the current PSL season.

The Durban-born player previously spent five years with F.C. Copenhagen in a successful spell from 2000-2005 and is relishing the chance of playing in the Danish league again.

"I'm very happy to be back in Danish football to play at the highest level," he said.

"FC Nordsjælland has showed me, that the club is very ambitious, and I will do everything to reach the level I was at last time I played in Denmark.

"It will take a lot of hard work, but I feel convinced I'll get there. Also because the club has a good coaching-staff and many talented players."

The former Orlando Pirates attacking-midfielder is aiming to force his way back into the Bafana squad, but denies that this was the main reason for his move.

He continued: "The World Cup at home is of course a big goal for me, but it's not the main reason to why I am here and want to play for FC Nordsjælland.

"I love challenges, and first of all I am here to prove that I can do well for FCN and find my own top level again."

Nordsjælland coach Morten Wieghorst could not hide his pleasure in signing the midfielder.

"I'm very happy that we succeded in bringing Zuma to FC Nordsjælland, because through the trainings he proved, that he has qualities we can use here.," he said.

"He is a skillful offensive player, who knows how to set up and include his teammates through his own game."

Nordsjælland Sports Director Jan Laursen is also ecstatic at the club's new signing and believes he will bring valuable experience to the side.

"At the current time, it is fantastic for the team to get the experience and offensive skills, which Zuma brings with him," he said.

"It has been a very important factor for us, that he seems hungry for football and success. And through the trainings he proved, that he still has a lot to offer as a

player," he condluded.
