Blackburn Rovers star Benni McCarthy has admitted that he would be happy to be rotated with team-mate Jason Roberts if the club can bring in an alternative attacking option.
Despite the fact that it would bring increased competition, McCarthy ? who scored 13 goals in all competitions for Blackburn last season ? believes Blackburn are in desperate need of another attacking option.
"We need extra and that little bit more quality to raise our game," McCarthy told The Lancashire Telegraph.
He added: "I know my strength and Jason Roberts knows his strength and we know we really complement each other. Maybe the manager will pick me for some games because of what I have over Jason and in other games maybe he will pick Jason for what he has over me."
McCarthy said Blackburn needed to sign a quality striker to fill the gap that was left by Roque Santa Cruz, who has since joined Manchester City.
"We don't have that player that has the qualities of both of us. That is what we had with Roque.
"If we can get one more quality striker and if it means one of us has to sacrifice then we would rather that as long as we win games and keep ourselves in the top half of the league," concluded McCarthy.
