Botswana international and Pretoria University star, Phenyo Mongala, has successfully completed his move to Orlando Pirates thereby ending speculation about his future.
Mongala, who was the subject of a tug-of-war between his former teams, 'Tuks' and Township Rollers, has signed a three-year-contract with the 'Buccaneers'.
"I am over the moon that I have finally signed for Orlando Pirates. It has always been my ambition to play for the Buccaneers since childhood," Mongala told the official Pirates website.
He added: "When I got the chance to train with the team during their pre-season period, I immediately felt at home and for that reason I wanted to make sure that I make my move permanent."
And make his move permanent he did after his impressive showing during the Vodacom Challenge against rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Manchester City, where he netted arguably the goal of the tournament against the English Premiership side.
"Obviously, after a couple of weeks at training with 'Bucs', I was very confident of taking part in the Vodacom Challenge against Manchester City and Kaizer Chiefs.
"The game against Man City was a great start for me, and the goal I scored helped me gain confidence. I am satisfied with what I did as a new player. I think I did well overall, but there's more to come that I can promise the Ghost in the new season," commented Mongala.
Meanwhile, Pirates have released long-time servant Lebohang 'Cheeseboy' Mokoena to join big spending Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mokoena became the third player to join the 'Brazilians' after former Ajax Cape Town striker Mabhuti Khenyeza and Golden Arrows midfielder Papi Zothwane.
