Jomo Cosmos looked set to make a quick return to the Absa Premiership after they beat FC AK 1-0 to increase their lead at the top of National First Division to four points.

With just two games remaining 'Ezenkosi' are in pole position to finish as Inland Stream champions and thus secure a play-off for spot for Absa Premiership promotion.

Cosmos' cause was helped by the fact the chasing pack ? Pretoria University, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Winners Park ? all suffered defeats this past weekend.

'AmaTuks' lost 1-0 to Dynamos, Winners went down to Witbank Spurs, while Aces were stunned 3-1 by struggling Black Leopards.

In the Coastal Stream, Carara Kicks handed African Warriors a 4-1 drubbing to maintain a narrow one point advantage of FC Cape Town, who also registered a 2-1 away win over Nathi Lions.

Durban Stars 1-4 loss to Hanover Park also ended their hope of surviving the drop and with only two matches to go the Durban side has no hope of staying in the NFD and will now campaign in the Vodacom Second Division next season.

In other Coastal Stream result, Ikapa Sporting beat Vasco da Gama 2-1 at Erica Park on Saturday.
