Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol is expecting an interesting encounter when his charges clash with Kaizer Chiefs in Saturday's Soweto derby.

The Dutchman was responding to Football365.co.za's questions at the Johannesburg stadium on Thursday about the goalless reverse fixture in October, which was classed a dull affair.

Krol believes there is always much more than points to play for in a derby and therefore, he expects an interesting game come Saturday.

"Sometimes it happens that you don't give a good game because football is unpredictable," he said.

"You can't say because it was not nice last year it will not be nice again. The derby is always something special... I experienced it when I was coaching Zamalek in Egypt when we were playing against Al Ahly and I was also involved in it when I was playing in Holland for Ajax, so it is not because there is something to play for or not. The derby will always be special.

"You can never predict how a derby is going to be. It has nothing to do with the fact that the league is gone for us."

His counterpart, Vladimir Vermezovic concurred when he said that he expects a good game from his boys after missing out on the title once again.

"We have to play good and the results will come. We lost the title, so it will be good if we play good and win."

Both mentors refused to predict the outcome of Saturday's clash.

"Would you put your head on the block?" asked Vermezovic. "I will only put my head on the block for my family.

"In soccer anything is possible and we will see what will happen on Saturday. But I can't put my head on the block, my players are going to do their best.

"I know that 90 per cent of our supporters will be happy to exchange a league title with a win against Pirates. We can't fight for the title, so we must fight for the three points on Saturday."
