Boebie Solomons has revealed that Santos are no longer looking for a new coach as he will now fill the post in a permanent capacity until the end of the season.
The 54-year-old was installed as caretaker mentor of the club after David Bright's departure from the hotseat. 'The People's Team' were set to advertise the managerial vacancy, but following an incredible start to the season, Solomons will double up as coach and the Director of Coaching.
"We are happy to be doing well and we are not in the market for a coach anymore," he told Football365.co.za.
"But if the results don't come, I will have to fire myself! I am still the Director of Coaching and it is up to me to make technical team changes if it is necessary. I will take decisions that are at the best interests of the club, but for now we are doing well so we have to keep going.
"At the end of the day, it is about the team and not individuals. I must also add that we are not fighting for the league at this stage, because obviously our league position gives people that impression. But for us it is important that we keep our feet on the ground."

Got something to say?
