Mamelodi Sundowns centre back Matthew Booth is back in training, but it is not clear yet if he will be available for their game against Kaizer Chiefs.

The two giants meet at the Super Stadium on Saturday and the 32-year-old is hoping to play a part.

The Bafana Bafana defender has been struggling with an ankle injury, but after returning to training he is optimistic of making a return to action against the Soweto giants.

He told Football365.co.za: "I started training with the team yesterday and I was there today.

"In all, I was out for five to six weeks, but remember that I was back against Amazulu (on 23 September) in between, but I aggravated the injury as it hadn't healed 100%.

"Now I'm facing a late fitness test, which will determine whether I'm available for Saturday's game or not."

"I have been out for too long and it feels so good to be back. But there is no pressure for me to play right away.

"I will do a fitness test on Thursday and hopefully I will be cleared for the game, but in any case, it feels good to be back after a long time out," he concluded.
