Mamelodi Sundowns stopper Brian Baloyi is relishing the chance of taking on former club Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

The Brazilians have endured a slow start to the season, but they showed what they are capable of with their 5-1 demolition job of Maritzburg United last time out, but the 35-year-old is refusing to get carried away by the result.

He told the club's official website: "We cannot get carried away with one big result.

"We have not done well in the last two seasons and need to make amends - and what better game to put things right than beating Chiefs at home."

The Bafana Bafana goal-minder has admitted that he does not know what to expect from the Naturena outfit, but said he was confident of getting a result from the tie.

He continued: "Chiefs are like us at the moment - up and down. But Chiefs are always Chiefs and I frankly do not know what to expect as they change their side week in and week out.

"But I know from experience they are not an easy side to overcome, no matter which player pulls on the Chiefs jersey.

"We have to collect another three points because sides like Orlando Pirates, Wits and Celtic are getting further away from us at the top of the table and we need to close that gap by collecting maximum points against Chiefs."

The Alexandra-born player went on to heap praise on Sundowns boss Hristo Stoichkov and urged the club's fans to remain patient with the team as he believes that success is just around the corner.

"As one of the senior players, it's my duty to assist and help get the coach's message across to the other team members," he said.

"The results will come. The fans need to be a little more patient with us. We are all giving 100-percent-plus to make sure Downs will be back to winning trophies in the not too distant future."
