Reneilwe Letsholonyane has revealed Kaizer Chiefs are targeting nothing less than maximum points against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The 'Amakhosi' will tackle their Gauteng rivals, who lie one point below them, after scoring six goals and conceding just one in the past two league encounters.

The club are determined to carry that form into the clash at the Super Stadium, even though the midfielder and his team-mates are aware it will be a tough ask.

"Sundowns are a tough side with lots of quality players," Letsholonyane told the official Chiefs website.

"We are a big team and we know what we want is three points out of this game. It is very important that we keep on winning our games if we are to stand any chance to be counted in the league at the end of the season.

"We have been playing well in the past couple of weeks and luck, that eluded us in the beginning of the season, has been on our side. I also think as a team we are working harder and we have rectified our mistakes. We are all ready for Sundowns come Saturday," he added.

Letsholonyane is confident that 'Amakhosi' can cope without key players Abia Nale, David Mathebula and Thomas Sweswe when they face the Brazilians.

"The coach (Vladimir Vermezovic) put a different team against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday and the guys did very well. This shows that we have enough depth in the team so I have no doubt that other players are going to come in and do the business in the absence of the other guys. When we walk in the field on Saturday we will have one thing on our minds, three points," he concluded.
