Golden Arrows sealed their place in the Wafa Wafa MTN8 final with an impressive 2-0 win (4-1 on aggregate) over AmaZulu in the second leg of their semifinal at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday night.

'Usuthu', trailing 2-1 after the first leg seminfinal, came into this game knowing they had a mountain to climb as they would have to score at least two goals if they wished to progress into the MTN8 final. That task was virtually made impossible 30 minutes into the game as Arrows took a two-goal lead.

AmaZulu certainly started the better side, controlling possession and doing all the attacking early on. Neil Tovey?s charges definitely looked the better side and were unlucky to go a goal behind in the 13th minute.

Richard Henyekane whipped in a teasing free-kick from the right side of the midfield which bizarrely struck Joseph Musonda's foot and then took a deflection of Pere Ariweriyai, wrongfooting the keeper, and found its way into the back of the net, 1-0 (agg 3-1).

That goal completely opened up the game as AmaZulu proceeded to go all out in attack with Mark van Heerden, in particular, leading the way with some inspirational passing and off the ball running. It was van Heerden who nearly drew his side level in the 18th minute when he fired a thunderbolt of a shot goal wards from 20 yards out, but Helton Da Rocha was at his best, diving full stretch to his right to deny him.

As 'Usuthu' continually pushed forward, Arrows looked extremely threatening on the counter attack, often using the exhilarating pace of Richard Henyekane and Gabuza to get round the slack AmaZulu defending.

In the 30th minute Njabulo Manqana crushed any hope AmaZulu had of qualifying for the MTN8 final when he scored his side?s second goal of the night. Manqana picked up the ball just outside the 18 yard box and proceeded to unleashed a powerful shot that found the bottom right hand corner of the net, giving the keeper no chance, 2-0 (agg 4-1).

That goal sealed the fate of Usuthu as losers, as they would have produced a miracle if they wanted to make the final. Bradley Ritson could have given his side a glimmer of hope five minutes before half time when he found himself with the ball six yards out from goal, but some poor finishing saw his attempt go wide.

The second half was more of the same as AmaZulu dominated possession, but despite that fact they could not break down the Arrows defence and never really looked like scoring.

The second half was not the most impressive football on display as the pace of the first 45 minutes took its toll on both sides. Tovey rung the changes but they had little effect and Arrows ran out comfortable 2-0 winners, 4-1 on aggregate.

Arrows were definitely the better of the two sides throughout the two legs of this MTN8 semifinal. They played beautiful football and whom ever they take on in the final of the MTN8 should be worried.
