Gavin Hunt has warned his SuperSport players not to get carried away after their 5-0 thrashing of Mpumalanga Black Aces as they prepare to face title rivals Orlando Pirates.
Matsatsantsa disposed of the PSL newcomers without breaking a sweat on Saturday afternoon, while the Buccaneers were handed their first defeat of the season by Santos, who ran out 1-0 winners.
Hunt is not reading too much into the Soweto giants' recent form, which saw them draw two games before surrendering their unbeaten run. The coach also refuses to hype up his men's rout as he knows United's real test will come in the top-of-the-table clash on Wednesday.
"All teams lose at some stage of the season and Pirates are still a very good side," Hunt told SAPA.
"They will be even more dangerous now that they have lost their unbeaten record and It is going to be another really tough night for us. We will have to stay focused and concentrate for 90 minutes.
"Aces will struggle away from home this season. We did well to beat them convincingly in their backyard and it was their first defeat at home, but we all know Pirates will be a lot harder and a tougher side to beat."
Hunt though will be confident of sneaking a result against Bucs at Orlando Stadium as Ruud Krol's men have struggled to find the back of the net. In contrast, Matsatsantsa have had a number of different scorers this season, with the likes of Daine Klate and Dario Monteiro complementing the efforts of Anthony Laffor and Glen Salmon upfront.
"So many times this season we have created goal scoring chances but failed to take them. But as long as we keep making chances then I cannot complain.
"Goals will come if the chances are there," concluded Hunt, who is determined to keep his men at the summit.
