Defending champions SuperSport United defeated Moroka Swallows 4-2 in a Absa Premiership match played at Super Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The host team started the league season at a slow pace, but Wednesday's result showed why they won Premiership back to back premiership titles.
SuperSport started attacking from the first whistle, with Jabulani Maluleke missing the target four minutes into the game.
Nine minutes later, Maluleke scored the first goal for United when his shot deflected into the net after a brilliant cross from Anthony Laffor.
Letladi Madubanya could have increased the lead in the 19th minute but his shot went wide.
Former Bafana Bafana striker Siyabonga Nomvete equalized for the visitors in the 22nd minute of the game with a brilliant header.
Madubanya made amends when he scored the second goal to put the host team ahead. Lungisani Ndlela was brought into the game as a substitute and he playeded very well and was rewarded when he scored the equalizer.
Ndlela was warned last week to lift his game and the warning appears to have done the trick, because he had an excellent game on Wednesday.
Daine Klaite put Supersportback in the lead in the 85th minute when he scored their third goal and two minutes later Thabo Mogalo sealed the victory for the champions.
