Platinum Stars will go in search of a third straight win in the Absa Premiership when they host Moroka Swallows at the Moruleng Stadium on Saturday evening (kick-off 8.15pm).

Stars have moved strongly up the table with two successive wins. They now lie in 12th place on the log with 12 points to their name.

The 'Tycoons' provided something of an upset when they defeated in-form Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 in midweek, proving that they can compete with the best when they hit their straps.

"I think to play a team who come into the game after a loss is always difficult," Stars captain Stanley Kgatla told the club's official website.

He added: "Swallows lost to Ajax Cape Town and now they will come all out against us, looking for a victory. But our fans can be assured that we will be ready."

Swallows have had an inconsistent season thus far and lie in tenth place on the log with 14 points to their name. They have suffered six defeats in their 12 matches thus far.

The 'Birds' most recent setback come on Wednesday when they were defeated 2-0 by Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City.

Stars and Swallows have met 12 times in the league since 2003/04, with the Birds? winning seven games to the Tycoons? three.

In home games for Stars, each side has managed three victories over one another. There have been no draws in league games hosted by the 'Tycoons'.

Last season Stars took four points off Swallows, drawing 0-0 away and winning their home game 2-1.
