Moroka Swallows midfielder Mark Haskins believes the 'Birds' will get back to their winning ways when they meet Thanda Royal Zulu in an Absa Premiership clash at Germiston Stadium on Sunday (kick off 3pm).
"We've had a good break now and we've prepared well. I do think we're ready to get back to our winning ways but it won't be easy. All the games now are going to be tough," Haskins said of the remaining six Absa Premiership matches.
TRZ beat the 'Birds' 4-2 in their first round encounter but Haskins said it won't happen again.
"We're ready for them and we owe them. They're coming to our home ground and we have to get the three points. We still want to finish in the top half of the table or higher as there is not such a big points difference between the teams.
Swallows are 11th with 32 points while TRZ are 14th with 26. A win for the Birds will move them into the top half but this also depends on other league results.
Meanwhile,
Haskins also criticised the media for being "too quick to praise and to condemn players in the Absa Premiership".
"It's a problem and you (media) are too hasty to praise players and to criticise them. It's just not fair, especially to some of the younger players," he said.
Haskins's teammates, Phumelele Bhengu and Sandile Ndlovu, are players who have come under fire in recent times.
"You score two goals and you're the best player around but next week you make a mistake and you're slandered. I know it's not all the reporters who do this but it's a bad reflection on all of you (media)."
Swallows too have not performed in recent times.
