Free State Stars will be gunning for maximum points to secure a place in next season’s MTN8 when they face struggling Thanda Royal Zulu in an Absa Premiership match at Goble Park on Wednesday afternoon (kick-off 3pm).
Stars held Kaizer Chiefs 0-0 at the weekend and will be looking to build on this draw. 'Amabhubesi', on the other hand, lost 3-1 to Moroka Swallows on Sunday and will be looking to bounce back.
"It has been a trend for us in the second round playing against teams that are fresh from defeat. It makes it difficult for us but it’s part of the game. We know the pressures that come along with such games and also the pressures that come along with playing relegation candidates," Stars winger Matome Madimabe told the official Stars website.
He added: "Playing against Thanda is going to be tough but we're glad to be back home which is going to give us an added advantage. We're not going to underestimate them but we will definitely not give them any
respect. We need maximum points and that's what we'll be going all out for on Wednesday."
The last time that the two sides met was in December last year, when 'Ea Lla Koto' won 3-2 with Stars skipper Duncan Lechesa grabbing a hat trick on the day.
