Bafana Bafana star striker Bernard Parker dream move to Holland-based FC Twente was completed after his former club Thanda Royal Zulu and Twente reached an agreement on Tuesday.

This was after Parker and his management team led by Mike Makaab agreed on terms that were described as "far in excess to anything the player could have received in South Africa."

At the same time, Makaab said the signing fee was nothing like the R11-million that had been trumpeted in sections of the media.

"I think they got their wires crossed and confused the transfer fee with the signing fee," added Parker's manager.

At the same time, it appeared a case of one of South Africa's leading strikers metaphorically proving to be an appetising piece of meat for FC Twente, while a second could be categorised as poison as far as the Dutch club was concerned.

Meanwhile, Mabhuti Khenyeza has returned to South Africa after FC Twente declined to offer him a contract after a trial period in Holland.

"It was a case of Mabhuti not being the type of left-sided player FC Twente were looking for," said his business manager, Glynn Binkin, "nothing more than that."

Binkin said other offers that had been received for Khenyeza's services ? both in South Africa and overseas ? would now be considered, with the Ajax Cape Town player looking for a contract in Europe in the first instance.

Binkin also confirmed there was "little chance" of Khenyeza remaining with Ajax because of ongoing differences with coach Muhsin Ertugral, which erupted when both were with Kaizer Chiefs.
