What you see is what you get. That is how Orlando Pirates have summed up Ajax Cape Town whom they face in the Telkom Knockout final at Durban's Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday night.

'Bucs' were beaten 1-0 last weekend in a league encounter by the 'Urban Warriors' at the Johannesburg Stadium. But players and officials countered that by pointing out that 'Bucs' had seven regulars missing from their line-up and that they would be fielding a different starting X1 in the cup final.

Ajax will have three key players returning in goalkeeper Sean Roberts, dangerous striker Sifiso Vilakazi, who scored a hat-trick in the 3-2 semi-final win over Free State Stars and the highly-rated right wing Sameehg Doutie.

They expect Ajax to attack and use the same tactics which succeeded in the league match.

'Bucs' are quietly confident as Teko Modise, their midfield king pin pointed out: "We pretty much know what Ajax are capable of and they are good. They did not get to the final or top of the league for nothing.

"We saw their strengths and weaknesses when they beat us last weekend, we are not expecting any major surprises. But we need to stand up and be counted if we are to beat them in a big final."

But Ajax coach Craig Roslee points out that by fielding a weakened side against his 'Urban Warriors', Pirates coach Ruud Krol showed his hand and put his side under pressure going into the cup final.

Said Roslee: "The bottom line is that the league is just as important as winning cups. We aim to get the best of both worlds. I opted to go for the three points and focus one game at a time and that tactic worked as we came away from Joburg with three points that put us top of the league and Pirates now have a tougher task knowing we have already beaten them and know we can do it again."

Roslee stated the pressure was firmly on Pirates who need to prove themselves. He said: "If Pirates field a new side against us, it could take them time to get into their stride and we could capitalise."

Ajax captain Brett Evans who has played over 250 matches for the Urban Warriors said that both Doutie and Vilakazi will make a world of difference.

"We have a settled and stabilised side and know and play for each other. That is going to be key."

'Bucs' skipper Lehlohonolo Seema and Modise are two players who were missing last weekend are back along with striker Gilbert Mushangazhike, plus midfielders Lebo Mothibantwa and Bennett Chenene. Two others who are injured and will not play in the final are defender Innocent Mdledle and midfielder Thulasizwe Mbuyane.

Said veteran striker Mushangazhike: "This is the biggest game for Pirates in a long time and for most of the players and we are determined not to fall at the final hurdle. The fact we are putting out a different side means that Ajax cannot read too much into their win last weekend."

Seema, who leads from the back by example, summed up when he said: "We all want to be part of history and that is what we will make if we win the Knockout trophy. It has been eight long years since Pirates won a cup competition and we aim to end that run on Saturday."

But the 'Bucs' skipper is the last person to underestimate Ajax although he stressed there was no pressure on his players: "We will have the crowd on our side. We have more fans in Durban and that is going to make a difference. Also we start as underdogs and know we cannot allow Ajax to dominate us a second time in as many weeks. The bottom line for us is to stick to the coach's game plan."

Krol has a problem in goal. His first choice keeper Moeneeb Joseph has recently returned to training after breaking his nose last month and has been out of action for over a month while his deputy Senzo Meyiwa has flu.

His decision on which goalkeeper will play could be critical.
