Last season’s Premier League champions, Leicester City, need to win the rest of their fixtures for the season to end in 8th place in the league. Tottenham is however secured in their 2nd position, to reign victorious in a heated night of football with a 6-1 win.
Kane began the momentum of the game, scoring the first goal for Tottenham in the 25th minute. With a great communication on the field, his teammate Heung-Min Son follows his lead to score in the 36th minute. This brings the score to 2-0 at half-time; a comfortable lead for Spurs.
Leicester’s Jamie Vardy places the Tottenham defence under pressure at times with his fast pace but this does not prove beneficial for Spurs, who dominates the first half and seals a comfortable 65 percent ball possession.
Leicester begins the second half with a strong start, by placing Tottenham under pressure for the first time in the game. Their efforts are not in vain as the poles are left open for Ben Chilwell to change the score to 2-1.
Kane and Son balances out the goal-scoring for Spurs as the former scores in the 63rd minute, and the latter in the 70th minute, from outside of the box. A great partnership advances the score to 4-1.
Kane scores his 4th hat trick for the season, the first for Spurs, making it 5-1 in the 88th minute and becoming the top scorer for the season. He remains on fire scoring a goal in the 92nd minute, with 26 goals in total for the league and 4 for the game.
A disappointing night for Leicester City motivates them to redeem themselves against Bournemouth this weekend.
