A goalkeeper in Indonesia’s top division died following a collision with a team-mate during a match.
Choirul Huda was rushed to Dr Soegiri Lamongan hospital but passed away shortly after arriving.
According to Skysports, an anesthesia specialist mentioned that the collision caused Huda, who was 38, to "stop breathing" and suffer "cardiac arrest".
In the statement, the specialist added that the "initial analysis" suggested a "possibility of head trauma and neck trauma".
Persela, whom Huda played for, continued the match. They claimed a 2-0 victory over Semen Padang.
Fans thereafter attended a candlelit vigil while the club posted: "Thank you for your constant dedication.
"Thank you for the inspiration you gave to Persela, Lamongan and Indonesian football."
