On the 25th November 2017, Fives Street Pop - up in partnership with Adidas, powered by Redbull and Totalsports hosted its third annual, unique, urban lifestyle and sporting event aligned with street culture and the transformation of inner-city spaces into soccer arenas, combined with local urban music, dance and art.
Fives Street Pop - up aims to empower creative pioneers within urban communities, whilst showcasing their talents. #BeTheHero kind of people, that takes the lead on and off the field, redefine the bar, inspire, pioneer and dominate! “Our vision is to promote authentic urban culture in South Africa, using innovative experiences to grow and maintain a following, while creating positive content which inspires our inner-city creative communities,” says Adam Fine, CEO and Founder of Fives Futbol.
The event saw a high-energy 3v3 soccer tournament, showcasing a surfeit of soccer skills, with side-line activities just as remarkable as on-field action, including live graffiti, Bboy battles, pana cage action and performances by DJ Switch as the MC, Youngsta, YGen, DJ Barry, DJ Eazy ,DJ Lyle Satrtam, Ason and AliThatDude.
At the event, headline sponsor, Adidas Football unveiled the game’s most iconic boot, the Adidas Predator. The Predator 18+ was released as part of the Skystalker pack - alongside the X and NEMEZIZ silos – taking inspiration from iconic Predator models while being brought up to date through modern tooling and innovation. The Predator 18+ features a black, red and gold colourway and includes an updated Primeknit Sockfit Collar, engineered to naturally expand to the foot’s shape while ensuring a supportive fit.

Our current Predator range, which goes on sale on the 29th of November 2017, includes stadium, cage and street versions of the iconic boot so the game can be played wherever” says, Charles Sanderoff, Adidas Brand Activation Manager.
In addition, the night was packed with media and local celebrity guest including the likes of GoodHope FM DJ and SABC 3 Presenter, Khanya "Kyeezi" Siyengo, Hectic 99 Presenter, Ayanda “Coolkid” Makuzeni and Mzansi Magic, IsiThembiso actor, Tiiesetso Thoka.
