Samuel Eto'o's agent says his client would like to remain at Barcelona next season after the striker was linked with a move to Manchester City.

Josep Maria Mesalles held a press conference in Barcelona on Tuesday morning in a bid to clear up the confusion surrounding the Cameroon striker, whose contract at the Nou Camp is due to expire at the end of next season.

Mesalles revealed Barca have offered Eto'o a new two-year deal on the same terms as his existing agreement in a bid to ward off interest from Manchester City.

City have reportedly made a £25million bid for Eto'o and offered him a contract described by Barca president Joan Laporta as "stratospheric".

And Mesalles revealed the former Real Madrid man would be willing to discuss a move to Eastlands should Barca opt to sell.

Eto'o is currently on holiday but will report back to Barca for pre-season training on July 20.
