8:49pm Just as we predicted, Kevin Pietersen is named man of the match - he's been phenomenal and we can only praise his form.

Stay with us for the match report which we'll put up shortly...

I guess in the end, cricket stole the show today! From us, its good night and we'll see you all on the 16th of August for the final encounter between these two powerhouses.

It's off to Lords we go, and that's where winner of this series will be determined. Its been a long and tough psychological battle between the two sides in this second innings...

8:33pm Despite both captains trying to engineer a win in this match, unfortunately its not going to be the case and the match officially ends in a draw.

8:08pm Smith bring Kallis into the bowling pack...lets see how he can create some unease for the English...

7:52m England currently need 139 from 15 overs.

7:18pm OUT! Prior is furious as he walks off the pitch. Run out, he was sent packing as they tried to get two singles but De Villiers did well to deny England the single.

7:17pm OUT! Off the new ball and Cook is gone! Playing to leg, Cook gets a leading edge to short extra cover but Rudolph lies waiting for the catch.

6:55pm OUT! Strauss - a full toss is patted back to Duminy for an easy catch.

6:55pm Duminy comes into the attack...

6:13pm England's captain Andrew Strauss is up next.

6:10pm OUT Pietersen couldn't resist a short ball from Philander and tried to go for the hook. He gets the ball high up on the bat and is caught at Tahir at shortish mid wicket.

6:03pm Cook gets off the mark as he cuts Philander to the vacant third man area for four. This Test match has now become a one-day game.

6:01pm To win this game England need just over 6 runs an over and KP is in the mood.

5:59pm KP gets off to a flying start as he edges Morkel through the slip cordon for four and follows up with another four.

5:58pm England have sent Kevin Pietersen in to open with Alistair Cook. That's a mighty statement of their intention to win this game. KP has never opened the batting in his England career.

5:47pm OUT! Morkel tries to go over the top but is caught by Cook at mid-wicket. SA have declared their innings on 258/9. Thats a lead of 253 runs.

5:46pm Morkel smacks Broad for four through the covers to bring up the 250 lead.

5:40pm Morne Morkel is next up. SA has a lead of 241 runs.

5:39pm OUT! Steyn loses his wicket as he scoops an Anderson delivery back towards the bowler. Anderson has to stretch a hand to his left but the ball sticks and Anderson picks up a wicket.

5:34pm Broad will have first crack and his first bowl beats Steyn.

5:32pm Alviro Petersen and Dale Steyn are back out for the final session of the Test match. SA could make it interesting by declaring their innings soon and give England a bit of a run chase. Probably not the smartest move though.

5:13pm Well that was an exciting session. Broad and Pietersen the destroyers in chief for England, picking up six wickets in that session. SA lead by 233 runs. That being said, it's tea time.

5:02pm Dale Steyn comes into bat next.

4:59pm OUT! Broad strikes again as he bowls a full ball that rises. Kallis opts not to play it but doesn't drop his gloves enough as the ball brushes glove and into Prior's gloves. England appeal and the umpire gives him out.

4:58pm Broad bangs in a short ball to Kallis who pulls. He though loses his balance and falls on his backside.

4:52pm James Anderson comes into the attack now as he replaces Steve Finn. South Africa lead by 219.

4:49pm Alvir Petersen comes out to bat. He's carrying that hamstring injury and can't have a runner

4:46pm OUT! Philander may have survived the hat-trick ball but Broad got him with a ball that was full, straight and nipped back to hits Philander's back pad. I hope the SA bowlers are taking notes.

4:38pm Philander gets off the mark with a controlled edge off Broad that flies well past second slip and down to third man for four.

4:36pm It certainly is getting interesting now as SA lose a couple of quick wickets with a lead of 203 runs.

4:34pm Broad comes steaming in and again its a full delivery but not quite as straight as the previous two balls. Philander gets forward, just outside off stump and blocks the ball.

4:33pm Jeepers its all happening now at Headingley. Big Vernon Philander is up next. Can he keep out Broad and deny him a hat-trick?

4:30pm OUTBroad strikes again as he traps Duminy lbw too. Full and straight and Duminy had no chance. Broad on a hat-trick.

4:29pm JP Duminy comes into bat.

4:27pm OUT! SA lose another wicket s AB de Villiers is trapped lbw by Stuart Broad.

4:09 Jacques Kallis seems to have recovered from his back spasms as he's up next to bat.

4:07pm OUT! Kevin Pietersen strikes again as Amla tries to smash a full toss out fo the park. he only manages to hit it to extra-cover and SA lose their third wicket.

4pm Steve Finn comes back into the attack now as South Africa steadily stretch their lead to 173.

3:27pm The Third umpire upholds the decision and Smith has to walk. AB de Villiers is up next.

3:26pm OUT! KP strikes again as he tempts Smith forward with a good ball that's sliding down leg. Smith comes forward but plays around and the ball loops up and short leg takes the catch. Umpires says out, but Smith reviews.

3:19pm Hot spot reveals that Smith did not nick the ball. There was no edge. Bat on skipper Smith.

3:17pm KP back into the attack for England as he bowls to Smith. Its on a fullish length and Smith plays a forward defensive. The ball rips past the bat and into the keeper's gloves and England celebrate. Umpire not moved. England ask for the review.

3:11pm Welcome back folks. The players have taken the field again after the lunch break. The sun seems to have come out to play too though there are a few clouds in the sky.

2:32pm Fifty! Smith goes to his half century as he plays KP to deep backward square leg for two. That's the over as well and with that the umpires send the players off to lunch.

2:27pm OUT! KP gets his man again as the third umpire upholds the original decision. Rudolph departs for a well played 69. Amla strides to the crease.

2:26pm KP comes into the attack and has an almost immediate impact as he traps Rudolph lbw. Umpire gives it out but Rudolph asks for the referral.

2:23pm Graeme Smith is dropped by Anderson at second slip after edging Bresnan. The skipper is living dangerously.

2:15pm SA's lead is now 100. For the moment Smith and Rudolph are happy to occupy the crease and just keep the scoreboard ticking over.

1:57pm The players are back on the field. Steve Finn bounces Rudolph, who hooks it high towards the leg slip position but lands safely. Rudolph scampers through for two runs.

1:42pm The covers are back on as the heavens open up again. The groundsman and his staff are earning their pay in this Test.

1:26pm That's fifty! Jacques Rudolph strokes Finn square through the cover point region for four and brings up a well deserved half century.

1:20pm Good news folks. The covers are off and play is about to resume. Graeme Smith will face James Anderson, who's bowling from around the wicket.

12:43pm News from the Proteas camp is that Jacques Kallis is moving about after suffering from muscle spasms yesterday and will bat if required. Alviro Petersen on the other hand will need substantially longer to mend from his hamstring strain.

12:41pm The players are going off again as the rain comes down. On go the covers again. The good news is that both Smith and Rudolph are scoring a bit more freely than they were yesterday.

12:23pm South Africa are scoring a bit more freely now compared to yesterday.

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of the final day of the second Test from Headingley. The good news is that the covers have come off and we will get some play today. Rain has been predicted for today but hopefully it will stay away.

But lord knows this isn't over. We'll be back tomorrow morning to give you the latest in this cracker of a Test.

The draw was already the favourite but now it's out in front by a length. Barring a fifth-day nightmare for South Africa, it'll remain 0-1 heading to Lord's.

5:30pm Play has been abandoned for the day.

4:57pm It's starting to rain and the covers are coming back on...hopefully this won't be the end what's been a great day so far...

4:57pm DRINKS!

3:50pm Good news folks...Play is just about to start...the boys are coming back onto the pitch so there's still more cricket for all off you out there!

2:39pm Yes guys this is an extended Lunch, rain has stopped play.

2pm Some thunder and lightning illuminates in the distance and the umpires decide to call LUNCH...

South Africa have a lot of niggling injuries in their camp and plenty of batting to do this afternoon. England will be looking to exploit SA's injury pack.

England bowled out....South Africa have done well this afternoon, given yesterday's situation. But they cant be smiling yet because this is certainly far from over...

1:32pm OUT! Bowled him, Anderson is gone and Tahir takes England's last wicket. Tahir pushed through a quicker leg break on off and Anderson tried to mow him but it wasn't to be...

1:31pm OUT! Tahir strikes again, top edged and trying to sweep it to the boundary, Prior hits it high and Steyn patiently lies waiting for a simple catch.

1:13pm OUT! Broad goes for 1! Top-edged and gone, Broad miscuing a swipe to midwicket, where Faf du Plessis takes a brilliant and well-timed catch.

1pm OUT! Great delivery by Philander and Bresnan is gone, edged to first slip and caught by Smith.

12:45pm: 50 from 66 deliveries for Matt Prior! He's an aggressive player who goes hard and fast on the bat, England are certainly smiling about him right now...

12pm OUT! Unbelievable. First over and Pietersen is gone, lbw by Morkel. Great breakthrough for South Africa.

Morne Morkel will start off for the Proteas...

12pm Pietersen and Prior are coming onto the pitch, hoping to take the game away from South Africa...

A breakthrough is vital for South Africa - they need to break the Pietersen/Prior partnership early on this morning...

The pitch is dry and looks great for batting - clouds are starting to bubble up and we may see some heavy showers later so we may not get a full day.

11:45am Morning guys. Welcome back to Day 4....

From us, its good-night. See you tomorrow as this intense encounter continues.....

England trail by 68 runs with 5 wickets in hand. Strauss' men will be going to bed feeling confident about today. Smith however should be worried...

Indeed this day belonged to K Pietersen who'se been sensational since the very beginning. SA were in control at one point but Pietersen has without doubt changed the game.

8:30pm STUMPS, on Day 3.

7:48pm OUT! Taylor is gone - breakthrough for South Africa. A full length ball around off stump and straight into the stumps off the inside edge. Morkel does it again!

7:30pm 300 for England. If they continue in this direction than South Africa should brace themselves for one very rough ride...

6:38pm A Ton for Pietersen, bringing his total to 21 centuries. There's been a lot of talk about this man off the pitch but this time he has yet again let his batting do the talking. Sensational play....

6:35PM New ball being introduced...looks like Pietersen has taken South African completely away from their game plan.

5:45pm England reach the double century milestone. This game is still very open-ended and much can still happen in these innings.

5:30pm FOUR and Pietersen moves to a half century - pulled away to midwicket boundary.

5:20pm The boys are coming back onto the pitch looking fresh....ready...set...and off we Go!

5pm: TEA! It's been a superb fightback from South Africa, grabbing 3 wickets in the afternoon session. Smith must be pleased with his Men's performance today.

4:50pm OUT! And King Kallis strikes...it was a full, tempting delivery from Kallis which Bell obligingly chased with a flat-foot drive and edged to first slip and Smith took a simple catch.

4:09pm OUT! Edged, good low catch and Steyn has his man - Trott knows he can only blame himself for that one. No footwork as he goes to play the cut and the top edge flies quickly, and low, to Smith at first slip.

2:48pm: OUT! South Africa strike early in the afternoon session. Strauss gone, caught behind by De Villiers. Steyn pitches on a good length and Strauss nicks it to De Villiers.

2:35pm Good news guys - Play is set to continue shorty...

12:54pm Rain has stopped play as we see the covers come on....Stay with us though for the latest action coming out of Leeds.

12:30pm OUT! First strike for SA! Cook lbw by Philander, wants to review and third umpire stands by decision - pitched in line and it's hitting middle stump half way up.

12pm Strauss and Cook take to the crease. Morkel will start the day's bowling attack!

South Africa will be looking to go hard on England before the lunch break, getting wickets quickly and applying pressure on the English...

It was a tough day for South Africa yesterday but they managed to make the 400 mark. Unfortunately things didn't go as they had hoped in the final session...

11:50am Good morning everyone and welcome back to Day 3 of what has been an interesting Test between South Africa and England....

6pm: Yes guys, its unfortunate but play has been abandoned for the day.

5:15pm The umpires are having another chat about the light and they are going off. Bad light stopped play.

4:55pm The boys are coming back to the pitch - Strauss and Cook take to the crease.

4:55pm England have a tough job to do, especially with South Africa looking to apply pressure early on.

What an innings this has been so far! South Africa will be happy with having gone past 400 and they will be looking to apply pressure early on to keep the English frustrated.

4:35pm TEA!

4:35pm OUT! A thick edge flying low to second slip, Cook grabs it and Tahir is gone for a duck!

4:20pm OUT! Morkel was trying to it high but turned out to be something else and the drive didn't come off the middle, landing firmly in Cook's hands.

4pm: Morkel hits a powerful FOUR to bring up South Africa's 400!

3:36pm OUT! Philander whips the short ball high in the air as he goes for a pull and doesn't keep it down and its an easily taken catch at deep square-leg by Bresnan.

3:09pm OUT! England think it's caught behind. Given not out by Rod Tucker and Strauss reviews straight away. Hot Spot shows a big edge. Clearly out. Petersen is finally dislodged.

And we're off! Anderson takes the first ball!

2:40pm LUNCH is over and the England fielders are seen warming up on the pitch...

Should England be worried already coming into the afternoon session and what should SA be doing differently to seal the game in their favour?

If they can get to 400, England will have a tough time getting back into this game...

I must admit, South Africa did relatively well in the morning session. Even with the single wicket lost, they remained calm and took control of the game...

2pm LUNCH, on Day 2 of the second Test.

1:42pm OUT! Rudolph is gone - Pietersen strikes with his second ball, Rudolph failing to get his foot back over the line and Prior takes advantage, whipping off the bails.

1:25pm Petersen gets to 150! Well done to the lad. He's been batting for a long time and the runs haven't come easy.

Petersen is given lbw but calls for a review straight away. Is it going down leg? It's high and missing leg so another good decision from Petersen.

But lets see what this morning session brings. Off we go and Anderson will take on Petersen in the first delivery.

And with a new ball in hand, things are certain to not go according to any scripted formats.

Five wickets gone on Day 1for the Proteas at Headingley. They will be going into this day knowing how crucial it is to keep Rudolph and Petersen batting for as long as possible today.

11:45am Morning everyone - welcome back to Day 2 of what has been an undoubtedly exciting and dramatic Test match so far.

From us, its good night - we'll see you again tomorrow!

Petersen has been spectacular since the very beginning - 124 runs not out. What a day for him!

Everything went pear-shaped for South Africa after the rainfall and the wickets just kept on crumbling. England have definitely come back into this series and will look to pick up where they left off come Day 2.

8:34pm End of DAY 1 and England have done a superb job - South Africa are five wickets down.

8:24pm OUT! Steyn gone for a duck, bowled by Finn!

8:13pm OUT! Just short of his half century, De Villiers is a bit late getting his bat down, leaving a slight gap and cannoning the ball down on to his off stump.

8:10pm That was a close one for Petersen. Hits Petersen on the back pad and Davis gives it, but Petersen reviews after a brief word with his partner and replays show it would have passed over the top of the stumps. NOT OUT!

7:14pm FOUR and Petersen gets his first ton! Patient throughout his 90s, he hits it beautifully and off for a boundary it goes. A well deserved 100 indeed!

6:10pm And we're back! The players have taken to the pitch and Finn will open England's bowling attack. England definitely have the momentum here.

South Africa need to be patient - if AB can stay on the crease for the rest of the day then the boys can still pull something out of a hat.

6pm: Great news - play will resume shortly!!

4:40pm The covers are coming off, the umpires will inspect once they've been removed and we should know soon...

Rain has started sweeping across Leeds. This will undoubtedly create an extended break but stay with us as we continue to bring all the action live from Headingley.

Robin Jackman just summarized this session quiet well - "It looks like South Africa are still wrapped up in that first Test match"

3:45pm And that brings an end to a painful session for South Africa, having lost three wickets this afternoon. England have certainly turned on the heat!

4:27pm OUT! Kallis is gone - he largely eschewed playing a balls outside of top edge squirted low to second slip, where Cook managed to cushion the ball into his grasp millimetres above the ground.

3:45pm OUT! Amla ran himself out after mis-communicating with Petersen.

OUT! Flicked to backward square leg! An error from Smith, a full leg stump ball and he's chipped it straight to the fielder! England get their first wicket!

3.25pm: Smith notches up his 50! Great start for SA here.

3pm: South Africa's opening partnership is at 102 without loss. The Proteas are steadily holding fort - I guess our positive Olympic spirit can be felt even at Headingley.

2:35pm and we're back!! Session 2 of the first day. South Africa have done well so far not to concede any wickets and England will definitely be looking to dismantle this opening partnership.

2pm LUNCH on Day 1!

1:30pm A clean FOUR and Petersen gets his half century! South Africa are going strong with no wickets lost yet.

12pm Looks like James will be starting England's bowling attack.

So Graeme Swann has been left out of the squad and SA are batting first - this day is already off to a dramatic start and the players haven't even taken to the pitch yet!

England have won the toss and chosen to bowl first. This is interesting as its a clear change in tactics from Strauss' men - but will this work to their favour?

11:40am Morning everyone! The day has finally arrived and we're about to kick-start the second Test between the Proteas and England.
